GSS director Nadav Argaman maintained that the cabinet decision to remove the magnetometers and cameras installed at the entrances to Temple Mount was the right decision at this point in time.

The Yediot Aharonot newspaper reported that Argaman attributed the success of his visit to Jordan to the cooperation and longstanding connection and trust he has with the Jordanians.

Argaman was sent by the prime minister to Jordan to close a deal with the Jordanians regarding the release of the security guard who killed two Jordanians Sunday and to defuse the Temple Mount crisis. The Jordanians demanded to interrogate the guard and Israel agreed on condition that he would be released to Israel immediately afterwards. Argaman brought his Jordanian counterpart to the embassy for the interrogation to demonstrate that Israel has nothing to hide.
