MK Shelly Yechimovitch (Zionist Union) responded to calls by government ministers for the death sentence to be administered to the terrorist who perpetrated the massacre in the house of the Salomon family in Halamish.
Yachimovitch said that "every person understands that this is no punishment because death is exactly what this dastardly terrorist wanted. They also know that this will not be implemented and will be left as an empty populistic call for revenge. It is worrying that cabinet members choose to challenge the prime minister from the right for political reasons rather than trying to find solutions which will prevent more horrific and murderous attacks like that which occurred Friday night."
