French president Emmanuel Macron spoke at the ceremony marking 75 years since the deportation of Paris Jews to death camps in July 1942. Macron said that the French were responsible for locating and deporting the Jews. French president Jacques Chirac was the first French leader to publicly admit that the French were guilty of complicity in the deportations and Macron added that he wished to strengthen Chirac's gesture.
