The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Major General Yoav Mordechai, has revealed on his Arabic Facebook page that in the past 18 days, the Gaza Electricity Company has purchased seven million liters of diesel fuel for NIS 21.1 million (NIS 3 per liter). 65 percent of the total reached the power station and the remaining 35 was confiscated by Hamas and sold to the private sector at a price of NIS 4.37 per liter - and kept all the profits without compensating the electric company.
Hamas earned a net profit of NIS 10.8 million, from money stolen from the public and from the electricity company in Gaza. Hamas sold diesel fuel to the private sector for one shekel less than its market price (NIS 5.37), in order to present the organization as helping the Arabs of Gaza. Mordechai stressed, "The terrorist organization continues to steal from you, it is the opposite Robin Hood - stealing from the poor and enriching the rich."
