The Ministerial Legislative Committee approved the proposal by MK Michael Malkieli requiring building contractors to regulate the Eruv (Shabbat perimeter) lines in the vicinity when they receive a permit to build.
In recent years building contractors have frequently hit poles or lines belonging to the local Eruv and the Religious Affairs ministry was then required to fix the Eruv as the contractors had no responsibility for the matter
