A Karl Gustav submachine gun as well as drugs were discovered by patrol policemen on patrol in the early morning im the south of Israel. The police stopped a car for a routine check and the driver, a resident of the Bedouin town of Rahat, escaped to the fields nearby and was quickly apprehended.
The car contained a submachine gun without bullets and six plates of hashish weighing 0.5 kg each.
Two other youths were in the car together with a 17-year-old minor girl from Ofakim.
The four were arrested and taken for interrogation at the Netivot police station.
