Coalition Chairman David Bitan says he has no pretensions of running for the leadership of the Likud party soon. Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio, he said, "I do not think that I have enough experience now to run for the Likud leadership,"

Bitan added that he is interested in being a minister in the current government and has received a promise from Prime Minister and incumbent party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu that the appointment will be made during the current term.
