Former prime minister Ehud Olmert submitted to the president an official request for a pardon so that his status as a "prisoner on leave" be revoked and the conditions imposed on him for his release will be cancelled.
Olmerts' request is based on an announcement by the President's House when rejecting a previous request for a pardon, in which Rivlin stressed that if Olmert would be released early from jail he would consider granting such a request.
