Tzohar rabbinical organization director Rabbi David Stav referred to the proposed "national conversion law" which states that only conversions conducted under the aegis of the Israeli Chief Rabbinate will be recognized under the Law of Return.
Rabbi Stav said this would bring to an additional reduction in the amount of converts and would cause an injustice to thousands who were converted in alternative rabbinical courts.
