Hundreds protest Qalqilya plan

Hundreds of residents from both sides of the 1949 Armistice Line demonstrated on Sunday night opposite Qalqilya, protesting a plan to build 14,000 housing units in western Samarian Palestinian Authority city despite Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's announcement on Sunday that he will bring it to back to ministers following the criticism heard from the right in the last few days.

Chairman Yossi Dagan of the Shomron (Samaria) Regional Council said, "We came here because we are citizens of this country, and we pay taxes and serve in the army. We are tired of being fourth-class citizens in our country. We arrived here because we expect normalization, we expect free construction. We expect environmental quality and the ones who receive the normalization and free building are theenemies of the state, terrorists from Qalqiliya and not residents of Cochav Yair, Kfar Saba and Samaria."
