Member of Knesset Yoav Kish (Likud) is promoting a bill under which the Knesset will elect the president of the Supreme Court in a democratic process. Kish claims that today the Committee for the Appointment of Judges does not exercise discretion, but rather appoints the president according to the seniority system, while the law says that the the most suitable person should be chosen for the position.
