An 18th-century painting stolen by the Nazis from a Jewish family in Vienna is scheduled to be auctioned at Sotheby's in London in July.
The painting has passed through a number of hands since the theft. Claiming it was the best deal they could get, the widower of one of the heirs reluctantly signed an agreement for compensation from the trustee of the last owner for the right to sell the painting, whose value is estimated between $700,000 and $900,000.
