MK Erel Margalit(Zionist Union) attended the opening of the Middle East accelerator which took place in Jordan with the participation of the King of Jordan and other dignitaries from local countries.
Margalit, who helped to promote the project, was the only political representative after Science Minister Akonis decided to boycott the event.
Margalit spoke with King Abdallah who stressed that scientific and economic cooperation are the basis for regional peace processes. Margalit said that "The region is ready for a dramatic procedure based on mutual interests and we must take this opportunity."
