A temporary restraining order against the splitting of the news department from the new Kan public broadcasting corporation will remain in effect until further notice, and Kan will also broadcast news and current events.
The status of the injunction was maintained following a Supreme Court hearing on petitions filed by Kan, the journalists' organization and Member of Knesset Eitan Cabel (Zionist Union) against the split.
