The Jerusalem District Prosecutor submitted charges to the District Court against 21-year-old Waseem Dabbas for attempted murder via an act of terror.
The charges stated that on 3rd of April the accused left his home in the Shuafat refugee camp carrying a 25 cm knife in his trouser pocket. He travelled on a bus from the refugee camp until he reached the Shuafat checkpoint, intending to perform an attack. When he reached the checkpoint, he was asked to present ID. The accused saw officer D, who was supposed to secure the place, standing 10 meters away from him. He took out the knife, waved it above his head and charged towards the officer intending to stab her in the neck and murder her. The police officer cocked her gun and aimed it at the accused, after which he dropped the knife.
