The Jerusalem municipality has announced that the Greek Orthodox Church has removed its objections to the burning of bonfires on Lag Baomer in the Greek Garden on Mount Zion, just outside Jerusalem's Old City.
Despite its status as a public area, the Greek Garden is church property and police turned away youth who tried to build a bonfire earlier this week due to the church's objection.
