Avi Gabbay, candidate for the leadership of the Labor Party, has welcomed Emanuel Macron's expected election as president of the French Republic, calling Macaron, "a man who until a few months ago was anonymous to the public in France, and this evening soundly defeated an extremist and anti-Semitic candidate who did not stop at any measures to harm his candidacy."
The former minister said, "Macaron's success in the elections shows the public's desire to vote for someone who represents a new hope: look at Trudeau in Canada and Theresa May in England. The public is tired of the old and disgusting politics, and it points to new candidates who come to politics with real tools to change and improve the public system for the public good."
