A preliminary police investigation into Sunday's stabbing attempt at the Damascus Gate revealed that the 16-year-old Arab terrorist arrived from Sultan Suleiman Street, headed in the direction of the Damascus Gate stairs, approached security forces, pulled out a knife and while shouting "Allah Hu Akbar," (G-d is greater) tried to harm them. The forces responded with determination and eliminated her.
A knife was found at the scene as well as a letter from the terrorist in which she quotes a verse from the Koran, parts from her family and signs with "shahid," the Arabic word for martyr.
