Minister Yisrael Katz said on Sunday that Israel and the United States and Israel must formulate a five-point memorandum of understanding on Syria, Iran and the region in light of the presence of Iranian personnel and its weapons transfers. Addressing the Jerusalem Post Conference in New York, he said the understanding should include US recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, joint opposition to a permanent Iranian military presence in Syria and Lebanon, and sanctions on Iran until it stops supporting Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations in the region.
