The Ministerial Committee on Legislation endorsed on Sunday, a proposed amendment by Member of Knesset Menachem Eliezer Moses (United Torah Judaism) to the National Health Insurance Law which states that a nursing patient will be entitled to state participation retroactively - from the actual day of hospitalization. The bill also states that no one-time payments - entrance fees - will be collected from nursing patients.

In the explanatory notes to the proposal submitted , it was stated that "Hospitalization is not fully funded by the health funds, and the nursing patient in need of geriatric hospitalization participates in high costs of hospitalization. In addition, the patient has to wait for a long period of time until receiving a permit from the Ministry of Health), and until the approval is received, he must fully cover the costs of hospitalization." The notes continued, "In addition, today, a person who enters nursing care is required to pay an admission fee twice the monthly deductible, in addition to the monthly payment. These entry fees are not returned by the hospital and not by the Ministry of Health. "
