The Knesset Committee for Legislation is to deliberate today upon the "Nation Law" proposed by MK Avi Dichter (Likud).
Th bill is a continuation of deliberations on the subject, which have ended without an agreed-upon wording. According to Dichter's bill, "The right to actualize an essential national definition in the state of Israel is reserved for the nation of Israel."
The bill includes a qualification, whereby the goal of the bill is to "anchor the values of the state of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state in the principles of the establishment of the state of Israel."
