Despite the furor over the Education Ministry decision to postpone the Lag Baomer bonfires by a day as well as the school vacation, the Chotam organization revealed that 50 years ago in 1966, the Rabbinate also acted to prevent Shabbat desecration and postponed the Lag Baomer festivities.
