Science and Technology Minister Ofir Akunis will pay 16,500 NIS in compensation to a woman who was villified by his staff on Facebbok.
When Batya Gottlieb heard last September that the minister was travelling to New York, she wrote on his Facebook page: "I am not sending you, feel free to stay." The staff responded "You are an impertinent and ugly woman, nobody asked for your sick opinion."
After the incident the minister's bureau apologized and stated that he had not been aware of the response. The woman sued him and the court ordered him to pay 16,500 NIS in compensation.
