Police have detained detained ten officials from Rishon Letzion and members of religious organizations in the city on suspicion of defrauding the city of hundreds of thousands of shekels.
An investigation lasting more than a year alleges the suspects presented the city with receipts for events that did not happen and inflated the scope and expenses of events that did take place.
