The heads of haredi-religious parties are expected to meet with Tourism Minister Yariv Levin on Tuesday and demand that he take a number of steps that will anchor the status quo on the Sabbath in light of a recent Supreme Court ruling allowing store openings in Tel Aviv on Shabbat. On Sunday, Levin was appointed to formulate an outline that would preserve the status quo.

Interior Minister Aryeh Deri is also expected to participate in a discussion with Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and other legal officials on his demand to appeal to the Supreme Court and demand an expanded High Court panel for hearings on the petitions against the Tel Aviv bylaw.
