Member of Knesset Shelly Yechimovich (Zionist Union), a candidate for the chair of the Histadrut Labor Federation, has responded to an agreement reached Monday afternoon to prevent a strike in the public sector by saying, "The mock strike that no one suspected would happen ended cynically at the height of Holocaust Remembrance Day, and the goal was achieved: newspaper headlines for the good of a desperate election campaign, to which all the workers in the economy were recruited against their will as a tool."

Yechimovich added, "The bitter reality in which many hundreds of breadwinners with families go home remains the same. The feeble agreement had long been signed between the chairman of the Histadrut and the finance minister, his partner in the coalition of Histadrut workers, even before the mock strike was declared."
