IDF delegations in Poland on Sunday evening held a ceremony in honor of Yom Hashoah, headed by Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot.
During the ceremony, the Chief of Staff awarded Holocaust survivor Mickey Goldman with the rank of major in the reserves.
Goldman, born in 1925, is a survivor of the Auschwitz death camp. He served in the Israel Police and became one of the investigators at the Eichmann trial. Goldman served under reserve duty for 58 years with the rank of lieutenant.
