Member of Knesset Micky Rosenthal announced on Tuesday that he would support fellow Knesset member Omer Bar-Lev's bid to head the Labor Party. Rosenthal called Bar Lev "clean and honest, and this modest man is winking from the elements of leadership, calm, responsible, peace-loving, who knows war. Omer is capable of uniting the ranks of a disintegrating party and restoring hope and faith to the state."
Rosenthal also said, "The time has come for the serious, the modest and the unstained of the kind of Amar Bar-Lev. Israel is crying out for people like him, leadership with integrity, a leader to be proud of."
