Israel Defense Forces Radio has published an apology for harsh words against the Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, also known as the Baba Sali of blessed memory during the "Status Quo" satire program last Thursday
Responding to the renovation of the rabbi's grave at a cost of millions of shekels, one of the announcers wondered, "Why renovate a dead man's grave? I expect him to come to life and make me a sponga [mop my floor] at home. Baba Sali was an idiot." Writing on the program's Facebook page, the staff conceded, "Things were said that went beyond the limits of good taste and legitimate criticism."
