Health Minister Yaakov Litzman met with parents of children in the hemato-oncology department at Hadassah hospital in Ein Kerem, Jerusalem. The department is threatened with closure after all the doctors threatened to resign from the hospital shortly.
Litzman said that the option of opening an alternative department in Shaarei Tzedek hospital was not feasible and called for the doctors and hospital administration to arbitrate and reach an agreement.
Litzman also stated that the ministry is committed to maintaining the continued treatment of the children at Hadassah or at whatever hospital the parents would choose
