Hamas is giving Gaza residents who cooperate with Israel a week to regret their actions and turn themselves in to its security services as the terror group tries to prove its contention that Israel is behind the recent assassination of a top terrorist and that it was not a local killing, as claimed by Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman

According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry in Gaza, a "repentant" collaborator will receive security and legal protection, and whoever does not do so will be at the mercy of the security services in Gaza. The statement also claimed that this is a lifeline and a real opportunity to get rid of a stigma and live a safe life without fear and being hunted, like collaborators who have surrendered in the past. Hamas has also executed several suspected collaborators in the past.
