Chairman Yair Lapid of the Yesh Atid party said on Sunday that if he is elected prime minister, the first telephone calls he makes will be to the Likud and Labor parties because Israel needs a unity government.

Asked about the Joint Arab List by 101.5FM radio against the backdrop of the coalition crisis over public broadcasting and a poll that shows Yesh Atid would get the most Knesset seats if elections were held today, Lapid said "No, I think that the time is not yet ripe, and I think that a party in which Balad is sitting with Hanin Zoabi, Bassel Ghattas and those who hate Israel cannot really sit in the government."
