An American military plane made an emergency landing at Banda Aceh's Sultan Iskandar Muda airport, Indonesia's air force reported Saturday.
Banda Aceh is the capital of Indonesia's Aceh province.
Air Vice Marshall Jemi Trisonjaya said the US Air Force Boeing 707 on Friday requested permission to land after one of its four engines failed.
The plane was carrying 20 military personnel en route from Diego Garcia to Japan's Haneda airport.
No one was injured.
It is not clear why the plane's engine failed.
