Israeli sportscaster Meir Einstein dead at 65

Longtime Israeli sportscaster Meir Einstein died on Thursday night at the age of 65. Einstein suffered in recent months from muscular dystrophy but continued broadcasting as long as he was able to.

Einstein began his career as a news anchor on Kol Yisrael radio and later became a sportscaster at the station. He called games for Channel One for many years, and in recent years hosted a show on a sports network on cable TV, as well as a radio show on 103FM in central Israel.
