After being forced to do so by the Jerusalem District Court, the municipality of El'ad published a notice, signed by the city's legal bureau, on Thursday calling on girls to register for local seminars according to what part of the predominantly haredi-religious city they live in.
The court had ruled in a case where certain girls were not admitted to the seminars. The municipality explained that the ad was published after consultations with Torah sages. It said that students from the Beit Ya'akov school in the upper region of Elad will be accepted to the Darchei Chana seminar, while pupils from the Beit Yaakov school in the lower region of Elad will be accepted to the Hochma Seminary.
