Extension and expansion of Galilee Law to final vote

The Knesset Finance Committee has approved an amendment to the Galilee Law for its second and third readings in the plenum.

The proposal will be extended by 10 years government priority to the poultry and sheep industries in Galilee communities. Member of Knesset Yifat Biton Shasha (Kulanu), one of the initiators of the amendment, told a committee hearing, "This is a move to maintain the livelihood of about 3,000 homes and veteran families in the Galilee who grow eggs and chickens, and for most of them it is their only livelihood. We also expanded the law to all farmers, not just those included in it so far and also fixed distortions which created inequality for years."
