The Knesset has approved the final readings of a bill to limit exclusive contracts between recording artists and studios to seven years.
In the case of peripheral or "360" contracts which include management, publishing and album production, the limit will be five years. The law allows for extensions if both sides want. The Law has been called the Aya Korem Law for a singer who has campaigned to break the lock of studios on performers.
