Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot of the Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Monday that Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Abu Saloub, who currently serves as a tracker officer in Judea and Samaria, will be promoted to the rank of colonel, according to Channel 2 Television.
It will mark the first time in the history of the IDF that a Bedouin officer will attain this rank.
