Minister of Interior Security Gilad Erdan called the terror attack in a Negev Bedouin village this morning "a difficult incident for our forces and for the State as a whole."

"A terrorist belonging to the Islamic movement sped towards our forces with intent to kill as many police as possible even before the evacuation," Erdan said, adding, "I hope that today will not signal an about-face in relations between Bedouins and State officials but if it does, MK Odeh made a big contribution in the matter."

"Negotiations took place over the course of weeks between State officials and residents. MK Odeh [was] not negotiating. He was there to inflame passions and incite to violence," Erdan elaborated.
