Qatar will transfer 12 million dollars to the Palestinian Authority Energy Authority in Ramallah for the purchase of diesel fuel for Gaza's electricity generating station to solve a crisis that has led to massive power outages in the Hamas-ruled area. Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani pledged the money following a meeting with Hamas Gaza leader Ismail Haniyeh in Doha.
The outages generated protests by thousands on Thursday. On Saturday, Turkey agreed to send large amounts of diesel fuel to Gaza.
