The Environment Protection Ministry reports a high risk of air pollution Sunday evening and Monday in the Negev and the Arava region due to a significant increase of respirable particulates.
The ministry of recommends that sensitive populations, including people with heart or lung diseases, the elderly, children and pregnant women, avoid strenuous physical activity outdoors. A ministry official said, "The high air pollution is related to a deep depression which is causing southwesterly flows of air and the transport of dust from Egypt to our region."
