The Haifa municipality has decided not to renew the business permits of the national oil refinery and other factories who have fuel storage tanks in the Haifa Bay area until it receives an updated opinion from firefighting services.
The decision follows Sunday's fire at the refinery, which apparently broke out due to a technical malfunction and human error during maintenance work on a tank which was hot.
