The Environmental Protection Ministry announced, Monday, that it has appointed a special investigative team, headed by the chief of the "green" police to probe Sunday's fire at the Haifa oil refineries. The team will include ministry professionals and outside consultants.
A ministry media release said the team started investigating the cause of the blast Monday morning and will work at an accelerated pace in light of the importance of the matter. The team's preliminary recommendations will be formulated by the end of next week, possibly in the next few days.
