Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz was evacuated this morning to Sha'arei Tzedek Medical Center in Jerusalem after a stroke.
The hospital said that the Rabbi successfully passed a brain catheterization to remove blood clots.
He is hospitalized in the intensive care unit, is breathing independently and is responsive to his surroundings.
The family requests to continue prayers for the Rabbi's health.
