Commander Roman Gofman of the Israel Defense Forces' Etzion Brigade told Mayor Meir Rubinstein of the Judean city of Beitar Illit that the army will soon present a plan to significantly upgrade security components on Route 375, which runs between Beitar Illit and the Palestinian Authority village of Hussan.

Rock throwing by Hussan residents targeting vehicles on the highway prompted the mayor to call a meeting with Colonel Gofman, Member of Knesset Ro'i Folkman, police and officials of nearby communities. Beyond an increase in troops, Rubinstein demanded an investment in fences, lighting and security cameras.
