A preliminary investigation by police fire investigators indicates that the fire raging around Haifa on Thursday was ignited deliberately and simultaneously at five locations.
Police said eight Haifa neighborhoods have been evacuated. 17 people have been injured from smoke inhalation and taken to area hospitals. Police and firefighters continuing to work in the neighborhoods to prevent injuries.
