2016 will end with about 700 immigrants to Israel from Brazil, according to the Jewish Agency.
This compares to an average of about 200 from the South American country. It is the highest number in 45 years, with similar numbers having been recorded at the beginning of the 1970s. There has been a jump in the last three years.
