The number of people using buses rose 9.1 percent and during the first nine months of 2016, compared to the same period last year, according to figures released on Sunday by Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz. Travel on Israel Railways rose 17 percent during the three quarters.
The distance traveled increased by 14 percent. The increases were attributed to tariff reform and increases in the number of buses and the number of routes.
