The Israel Lands Council voted on Thursday to restore national priority status to an area within a kilometer of the shore in the southern port city of Eilat.
The status qualifies developers for tax exemptions and other benefits. The status was removed two years ago because the zone did not meet the definition of a peripheral area. Thursday's decision is expected to revive development in the tourism-geared hotel and entertainment area.
