Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday met in the Qatari capital Doha with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal to discuss the issue of "Palestinian national unity '' and general elections.
Also present at the meeting were PLO Secretary General Saeb Erekat and senior Hamas official Ismail Haniyeh.
